At CNS, mom has been catching up on her water volleyball skills.
A year in pictures. Wow, we’ve come a long way.
One year ago
Today marks one year since Cindy’s accident and its hard to believe. We are so proud of how far she has come and will continue to go in the coming months. So on this happy day, we would like to thank everyone who has supported us this past year, we could not have done it without you.
We love you Cindy.

Summer!!
This summer the boys are visiting with mom a lot. They’ve been here since last weekend and they’ll be back in a few weeks. We’ve been having lots of fun. Last weekend, Jacob and Lauren came to Fort Worth and we all went to a local water park called NRH20. It was hot but fun. Last week, we’ve gone up to the rehab to have lunch with mom almost everyday. On Tuesday the...

Boys in Fort Worth
This weekend the boys came to FW to visit mom. They stayed at my house and I went to get mom first thing Saturday morning. The boys were so excited to be woken up by their mom, not to mention mom was pretty excited too. We had breakfast together for the first time in, well, too long. Afterwards we went to a place called Incredible Pizza, somewhat like Dave and Busters. Mom got to hold Aubri...

I just got a call from mom’s speech therapist at Texas Neuro Rehab. She had some very encouraging news and told me that mom is having another great week of therapy. The last two weeks had been tough because the doctors were adjusting mom’s medications and now it seems that things have stabilized again. Please continue to pray for progress in her recovery and patience for the...
Walking is becoming easier and easier. As the therapist says in the video, mom is still really scared of falling when walking because her balance is really bad. She has what they call proprioception, where she has difficulty sensing where the various parts of her body (mainly feet) are located in relation to each other, thus hindering her ability to walk. This will go away with practice and...

Holiday update
As for her recovery, mom is doing well and she’s had the HALO off for over a month. We visited with her neuro surgeon in December and he wants her to continue to wear the neck brace when not sleeping or laying down just to make sure she doesn’t re-injure her still-healing vertebras. She has another appointment with the neuro surgeon this month and hopefully we will get good...

Video from the Benefit for Cynthia Gordon
Sorry this video is sideways, but it’s really a good one to watch.
Wednesday, December 10 - 1:30 p.m.
The HALO has been off for over 5 days and mom is doing great. She took a nasty spill in the bathroom on Sunday night and had to have 8 stitches above her left eye. She’s in really good spirits and likes participating in her therapies. Today she looked at old pictures and worked on memory exercises with her speech therapist.
The boys came to visit yesterday evening and we ordered pizza....

Mom had a pretty good, but long, day yesterday. We spent most of the day at Brackenridge, pretty surreal, getting the HALO removed and having a CAT scan, MRI and X-Rays. She has to wear an aspen collar for a while because two of her C-spin fractures have not completely healed. She is very relieved to have the HALO off, but I’m sure the collar will start to bother her since it’s...
