Wednesday, December 10 - 1:30 p.m.
The HALO has been off for over 5 days and mom is doing great. She took a nasty spill in the bathroom on Sunday night and had to have 8 stitches above her left eye. She’s in really good spirits and likes participating in her therapies. Today she looked at old pictures and worked on memory exercises with her speech therapist.
The boys came to visit yesterday evening and we ordered pizza....
Friday, December 5 - 6:50 p.m.
Mom had a pretty good, but long, day yesterday. We spent most of the day at Brackenridge, pretty surreal, getting the HALO removed and having a CAT scan, MRI and X-Rays. She has to wear an aspen collar for a while because two of her C-spin fractures have not completely healed. She is very relieved to have the HALO off, but I’m sure the collar will start to bother her since it’s...
Tuesday, December 2 - 4:55 p.m.
Well, we are getting settled at TNR. The nurses are really nice and mom really enjoys cracking jokes with them. They are getting her into a strict schedule of therapy, meals and rest time everyday. She gets at least one session of OT, ST and PT each day. Visting hours are M-F from 4pm to 8pm. Since her days are packed with activity, she has been going to bed around 8pm daily. The doctors...
