Holiday update

As for her recovery, mom is doing well and she’s had the HALO off for over a month.  We visited with her neuro surgeon in December and he wants her to continue to wear the neck brace when not sleeping or laying down just to make sure she doesn’t re-injure her still-healing vertebras.  She has another appointment with the neuro surgeon this month and hopefully we will get good news.

Mom is still struggling with her short-term memory, which they say is very common in car accident victims, because the part of the brain that controls short-term memories is right behind the forehead and most susceptible in high impact car accidents.  Also, mom is very stubborn (NO, a McKinley, stubborn?) and so it makes it hard for her to realize how much help and recovery she still needs.  But, everyday she makes a little more progress.

Thanks for the continued prayers and support.
